Realme GT 5G receives security patch in October 2021

Realme has started building on Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. Realme UI 3.0 system will run on its phones, new flagships will be updated with the latest version of the interface. One of which will include the Realme GT 5G, the only Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone from Realme to date. The 2021 flagship phone was among the first to receive Android 12. Today, the brand is releasing a new firmware update that carries the October 2021 security patch.

The new update carries the modem part version called RMX2202_11_A.16 and is being rolled out over the OTA channel. Besides the current security patch, the update brings much more. It introduces bug fixes and system stability optimization for some device issues. As current information, Realme has not detailed exactly the specific changes in this round of security patches. This update seems to be a small security patch. Therefore, we do not expect major changes in the software or any new features.

As said earlier, updates will be rolled out in order. So your device probably has to wait. If you don't get the notification right now, don't worry. as soon as possible your device will receive the security patch. Alternatively, you can check for updates by going to Settings >> Software Update.

It's worth noting that Realme is currently running the Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0 beta in India and China. If you live in any of these countries and own the Realme GT 5G, you can try the beta build right now. If you like Android 12? Just sign up for the beta test through the Settings app.
